We ain't the same so I'll get used to that

You ask me what's my biggest life lesson ever through my own experience and the experience of others, I would tell you I made a big mistake for so long to assume the world moves at my pace, but the guy selling plantain chips is thinking about his daily margins and the man in the black big badass looking Land Cruiser is worrying about a port clearance that’s been stuck for three weeks already. Two men, different minds and what's taking their attention.

Way too much energy has been spent being annoyed that those around me don’t get me, but why should they? I'm assuming they're me and have my experience and perspective. They don't and I should get used to it.

Their incentives aren't mine and that's just how the world works.
When you're dealing with the big men at the top, they don't want the story of how hard you worked or the stress of the process, your grind and your worst moments. They just want the result so they can move to the next fire they need to put out. So I learn to be results oriented too.

It looks like a cold way to live life, but it’s more efficient than being naive. I'm also considering the ones coming up behind me, all the students or the juniors, and I realize something about them, they are not looking for a lecture on grit and toughness. They want a shortcut so they ask for ChatGPT. They want to know how to get to the money without making the same mistakes you made so many times, what's the point they'll ask. You'll tell them to learn values and they'll tell you we already know the value, people are flaunting online and making them look small and that's pressure so they want the money now.

You could easily get frustrated when a subordinate doesn't see the vision or your boss is ignoring all your best ideas but anyway, I see it as just a frequency mismatch. I had to just see it as music and stop trying to force my playlist onto everyone else's radio. I actually started to get things done. I stopped taking it personally and say to myself that's life

I just decided to adjust the dial and keep moving because at the end of the day, the bills don't care if I were understood or not. They just need to be paid and they also don't care about my passion so get the success then follow the passion that's the plan.
