More gifts to the rich guy, more advice to the poor
Give to the poor they say, a lot of generous people are on this planet and I say God bless them. If they didn't have such a generous mindset, some poor people would be left with no help.
The help however didn't come easily. There had to be a rich man who worked hard and smart to get the wealth and needed to overlook his own struggles to get to the top and have compassion. Unless they're close to their death or have been heavily convicted by some religious morality, they're not going to give you too much. Some will anyways, they have a golden heart.
Have you seen the house of your average rich man? It's full of gifts from friends and loved ones. Gifts enough to make another poor person rich. What an amazing life. To get what you don't even need because you already have way too many.
The poor man's house is filled with nothing but a lot of advice from people. Some are as poor as he is so can't help him and those that can will give him very good advice.
Two schools of thought.
Either the people advising understand that what the poor man needs is a change of mindset or they don't want to give their money to the poor guy because they have other things to do with it, like giving it to their richer friends.
We can call it wickedness for seeing a person give to a richer person money and give to a poor man advice and I won't argue with that. However the reason is simple. Gifts for the rich is to get something in return, while advice is free and they don't expect anything in return.
The "something in return" may be to establish a stronger connection with them, relationship with them or just to be in their good books. Certainly not everyone has a motive for that. Some already knew the rich man and are just being friends. But some do it as a diplomatic way of asking for future support from the rich man. So what happens, that rich man keeps getting more and more stuff and the poor guy keeps getting more advice. The rich needs advice but not about money because he's doing just fine with that.
A paradox, a coincidence? I think not.
