Nineteen year old Jonah preferred spending nights alone in his room. The house was silent, his phone was his connection to others. He sent the same messages to school friends to start a conversation. The replies were brief and some people never even responded back to him.

One night his phone was ringing after midnight, an old friend was on his way home from a sick ass party. Jonah watched the phone and did nothing, he had a serious feeling of anxiety.

A few minutes passed and the friend sent another message, asking why Jonah ignored the call. Jonah studied the message for a long time because he wanted to be friends with this boy. At the same time, he did not want to talk to anybody, what a confusion.

That thing happened a lot. Loneliness does not come with being alone, sometimes it affects those who spend the whole day surrounded by people or talk with many people only through online.

Jonah realized that pretending was not easy at some point. In response to messages and calls, he pretended he was having fun and smiling. With time he stopped trying to perform before other people, he started to be sincere with his emotions and keep a limited circle of real friends.

There was one boy, his friend, who kept calling him to make sure he was okay. He made Jonah believe in people again, taught him that silence does not always mean danger. Sometimes silence allows people to find something new about themselves.
The process of growing up is not something over dramatic experience all the time. There will always be moments when this process happens without you even noticing.
