Not so lazy after all huh
Mike was a noble guy who worked in an office. Each morning, he entered the office with his laptop like everyone else. He took a seat at his place but the thing is this guy rarely used the computer. His colleagues used theirs, attended meetings and sent emails the clients. They looked quite busy all the time and he looked lazy, like he was doing nothing with work times.
Mike spent most of his time moving from desk to desk. He assisted some coworkers l and brought coffee. Nobody could see him doing anything useful though.
His colleagues considered him to be one hell of a lazy man.
One evening, the manager made a funny comment about Mike's behavior because he also saw Mike in that regard. He joked that Mike’s laptop was only for show. Everybody in the office burst out laughing and scoffing Mike. But Mike also laughed and said, maybe you are right. The words of Mike was forgotten after some minutes.
Some hours later, the company's network failed. All work stopped, files were broken, emails could not be sent or received. A presentation for a client was scheduled for that day, everything was falling apart.
While everyone panicked, Mike was just calm. He switched on his laptop and began to do his work.
Before this position Mike had in that office, he had gained a lot of experience working in the IT department. He knew what had to be done in such situations. He contacted support and recovered the lost files. He really saved the day and helped the team to continue their work.
That day turned out to be quite productive for the whole office although it was so close to being a disaster.
They understood the true value of Mike. They ordered pizza and continued to work late into the night. They helped each other and finished the work on time for the client.
Mike ain't so lazy in their eyes, he's now the most important asset of the company. If things go south, he's the one they look to for help.
