I'm thinking about real humility

I go to church a lot and humility is a big topic discussed and preached. But I feel like if you don't let people understand the difference and that thin line between self doubt, humiliation and humility, you'll teach people to become less of themselves.

Humbling yourself is not necessarily to be hard on yourself. It is just you thinking about yourself less and this difference matters so much.

When you are putting yourself down, you are still putting all of your attention on to yourself by the way. If you spend all day long telling yourself you are stupid or "
not good enough, you're nothing you're small so respect everyone, then in reality you are still the main character in every thought. You might change how you see yourself but you are still the topic.

True humility is far from this.

The humble person does not walk around feeling that they don't have value. They do not put a lot of thought into themselves. Their focus is on other people, their job and what needs to get accomplished that day.

Very few people are humble today but depending on where you are you'll think I'm wrong and that's true.

The world is constantly telling us to evaluate ourselves. So how am I doing in my career? So how am I dressed in this meeting? What did people think about what I did? People constantly check on the way they think the world sees them. Humility when it's the right one, it turns all of that off.

You have not realized it yet but that's where true freedom lies.

When you stop trying to manage the image of yourself in your own head, you will become extremely curious because you're paying attention to more than just you. And that's why I agree if someone says pride and selfishness goes together.

You will actually listen to others and you will accept that you may not be right without taking it personally because your ego is no longer trying to protect yourself.

Self criticism looks like humility, it is nothing but shame. The person who quietly does their job is the truly humble person, they have no need to have people recognize their name. I am building this mindset for me.
