A Beautiful Heart
There are certain people I've noticed respond very differently with pain and hurts. Instead of becoming bitter assholes, they become soft after suffering, it's bizarre for me to see a person like that and I have total respect for such people.
You see someone who has been through hell and back and they're the first one to offer you a glass of water when you're thirsty, probably because they remember how it felt when they where in your position and were denied. They remember all of the hunger or the insults from years past.
I watched a gentleman I haven't seen before in my life closely today, he was wearing a nice yellow shirt, which I have to say did not fit his shoulders well at all, and this man was helping this stranger change a flat tire in the sun and he didn't look annoyed. He's not getting paid for that and it took him a long time, I went to buy food and passed by again they were still working on the car. What heart do you need to have to kill yourself for a stranger for no reward?
The people of this generation have a short fuse. They get so easily offended by the slightest thing. Perhaps he remembers being stuck on the side of the road and how it felt when no one was there to help him out. It's a choice you have to make on your own to break the cycle of suffering. Most people will pass their pain along, because it is much easier than taking a stand for themselves and I don't know if I could do that.
The man's shirt was ridiculously distracting and got dirtier as he kept working on the car. How can you be angry for suffering and then choose to be nice to someone? Such a beautiful heart.
