Loyalty over betrayal
People who hurt others for their own sake aren't people I'll be trusting at all. I have a funny feeling about those type of people. If they'll betray one person, they'll betray everyone, just a matter of time. The last person you betrayed was meaningless to you, what really matters is that you're willing to betray people.
A lot of people seem to think that being picked instead of another person somehow makes them feel good. I feel the exact opposite. It's a selfish thing and shows a person can easily switch loyalties.
I don't want to be around a person who does something to further their own selfinterests in this manner.
To me, loyalty means supporting someone no matter the situation, not just when it's easy. This means treating that person well when no one else will see how you treat them. If you make me happy at someone else's expense, you deserve less respect than someone who treats people right.
When I notice someone dropping other people, I start to get concerned that if they have a good enough reason to drop others, they'd do the same to me. When I do that, I begin pulling away from them, I don't want the inevitable pain.
I want to be friends with a person who is consistent and dependable with everyone, rather than a person who is unpredictable and inconsistent.
