A Different Heart

There is pulse again.. She moved a toe, a finger and she starts twitching her eyes. He said, it's a miracle! Everyone in the room started clapping, as she starts moving her body sideways.

The doctor left the room and was stopped by a nurse friend who knew about the operation. She asked if it succeeded. He replied while still not believing that the operation succeeded, the heart replacement surgery?. The patient is awake! He kept it there, while having so many things to say. But, he still believed that luck had a part also in it.

The patient slowly moved out of bed. Dropped the bedsheets aside and stood up. Only wearing the plastic covers from the surgery. She looked at the mirror to see if they have followed her instructions of keeping her make up on. Then tried to move outside. She strangely felt that her leg is heavier than usual. The hands and whole body is not moving anywhere. She wanted to go outside. The few doctors in the room asked her to relax as they will ask the doctor to comeback, if she wanted a word with him.

Unlike what they had in mind, she did not have any words of praise to say. But, she had a question to ask him. Is it always a success or failure to some? Sometimes, it is a soul.
