Newborn

Nothing was lighting up the way, except for few houses that left their lights on. The night was dark. The narrow streets are still wet from the rain. The street was long, narrow and a bit cold. It was close to midnight. It was just another day, that he is walking down the road by himself. As most of his neighbors work in morning time. He felt a bit unfortunate to only find that job that required him to stay up late.

His mind was as quiet as the street that he was passing by. It felt empty all around. It starts to not make a difference in the morning. As he feels different and odd. He passed by a pair of shoes on his way back. Then, stopped! Went back to look in the corner of one of the big houses to his left. He saw an old man laying down on the wet floor. With an old cover to keep him warm. He just took off his jacket and placed it on the cover. Then, he left.

But, his mind stayed in that place. Repeating the same image. Something felt fulfilling. It is that moment, that he realized that there is a bless in giving! One that he could not express in words, just as if he was gaining more by giving something away. At that moment, he felt different, something beyond materialistic. Just like a new realization has been reborn from within.
