Lunar landing
Moon landing
The foundation of a deeper scientific study!
I wouldn't have thought so much into the word. Yes, I would have just thought of it as a normal vocabulary implying the landing of astronaut(s) on the moon. Of course, it also means landing on the moon, but thanks to the contest, I'd learnt something new 😌. It is historical and this particular ‘moon landing’ is referring to the first time the event took place.
If anything, I think July 20 should be celebrated and well recognized among scientists; especially rocket scientist and astronauts, pilots, researchers, explorers, geologists, astrologists and lots more.
Perhaps moon landing had always been celebrated but it is not well known or worldwide. Another thing might be I'm not current enough to know about it and not well versed in astronomy to know about it and some of it pioneers.
It's been 56 years discovering that life can also exist outside planet earth and on the moon. Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin deserve the yearly accolades. Like who would volunteer to go to a foreign or alien place to explore? Definitely not me. It takes a lot.
Moon landing has paved way to lot more than we can imagine; giving us the knowledge about aliens, and studying more on the geology of the moon, spaceship, spacecraft and other natural satellite.
