The tale you didn't ask for...
With an expression of annoyance, Simi glared at the mushrooms that have grown in front of her house. They were not even edible.
With a grunt, she raised her feet as she kicked them off the soil, uprooting and trampling on them.
“why will you do that?!” Someone shouted at her.
Upon looking up, it was the old principal living third house from hers.
“They are useless anyways. God knows why they are always growing here. Is there a reason why I should let them be?”
“Definitely”. The old man replied. “Though you might not be able to eat them, reishi mushrooms are very medicinal.
“Oh…”
“During my younger years, while working in the laboratory, I was able to discover that these mushrooms are filled with beta glucans and triterpenoids which stimulates immune and the anti-inflammatory properties in man. They take part in relieving stress too.”
“Wow. That's a lot”
“You think so? You could have them dried and make them into tea for yourself. You could even sell them too and make some money!”
Simi laughed. “If that's the case, I might have lost some money because heavens know how much of these mushrooms I have destroyed in my yard. Thanks for enlightening me , principal.
“You're most welcome, my dear”. With that the old man trotted away.
