New born (for my grandson)

A quiet breath, so faint, so new,
a whisper waking into light,
as if the world itself just knew
to pause and hold this fragile sight.

So small the hands, so soft, so slight,
not yet aware of what they’ll hold,
yet in their touch there rests a might—
a story waiting to unfold.

Eyes that have not learned of time,
no past to weigh, no fear to see,
and still they carry something prime:
the spark of all that yet will be.

The world stands still for just a while,
as if reborn within your gaze,
as if it all begins in style
with you, and all your unseen days.

Welcome now to breath and light,
where quiet wonders softly start—
you are the dawn, so pure, so bright,
a gentle beating of the heart.

Neu geboren (für meinen Enkel)

Ein leiser Atem, kaum zu hören,
ein erstes Seufzen in der Welt.
Die Zeit scheint still den Raum zu stören,
weil neues Leben Einzug hält.

So klein die Hände, zart und warm,
noch ungeübt im festen Greifen,
doch liegt im winzig weichen Arm
schon Kraft, die Welten wird begreifen.

Ein Blick, der noch kein Morgen kennt,
kein Gestern und kein großes Fragen,
und doch ein Licht in sich verbrennt,
das Hoffnung wird an allen Tagen.

Die Welt hält kurz den Atem an,
als hätte sie Dich neu erschaffen,
als finge alles wieder an
mit Deinem Lächeln, still und offen.

Willkommen hier, im ersten Sein,
wo unsere Herzen Wunder spüren —
Du bist noch kaum, und doch schon ganz,
ein Anfang, der uns wird berühren.
