Russia releases its brand new $ 20,000 postal drone ... and ends up crashing into a wall
It was an important morning for the Russian city of Ulan-Ude, where several important media and characters gathered to meet the new commitment of the city to become an example of technological vanguard.
The company Rudron / Expeditor 3M and the city government had in mind to show their new and impressive postal drone, the first of its kind. The problem was that the presentation did not go as expected.
It was a hexacóptero with an approximate price of 20,000 dollars, which would come to support the work of the postal service delivering packages and letters to the inhabitants of Ulan-Ude and within the region of Buryatia. The detail was that during its inaugural flight, the drone lost control and crashed directly against a wall.
A shameful debut
Alexei Tsydenov, the regional leader of Ulan-Ude, mentioned that until now the causes of the failure are unknown, and he only speculated that the more than 100 WiFi signals that were in the area could have caused some interference, causing the lost of control.
In spite of this, Tsydenov assures that this is not a defeat and they will continue trying it in the future. However, the Russian postal service is seeking to demarcate itself from this fact, although its logo was shining in all its splendor in the drone. And it is that this accident was now on a wall, but it could have caused a major accident on one or several people.
For its part, the company Rudron / Expeditor 3M has not given any statement about the incident. We must remember that the idea of drones messengers has been tested in several regions of the world as well as companies, such as Amazon, who seek to implement these devices to deliver.
