Halo 2 is a 2004 first-person shooter developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios, originally for the Xbox. The second installment in the Halo series and a direct sequel to Halo: Combat Evolved. The game takes place in the year 2552, where humanity remains locked in a war with the alien Covenant. Players once again control Master Chief as he defends Earth from invasion and uncovers a deeper conflict within the Covenant, while a parallel storyline follows the Arbiter, a disgraced Covenant commander, during a pivotal turning point in the war.
