LOVE ONE ANOTHER

“OWE NO ONE ANYTHING EXCEPT TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.”
Romans 13:8 (NKJV)

A number of believers do not understand the God they claim to be serving. The practice of the Word of God, the principles found in the Bible, is of paramount importance to God than any other thing (1 Samuel 15:22,23; James 1:22,25).

When a believer does not walk in love, that is, he does not allow the love of God poured out in his heart to find expression (Romans 5:5; 13:8-10); he is indirectly jeopardizing his own personal life—giving a place or chance to the devil to operate in his life (Ephesians 4:26,27).

When a believer leaves the arena of love, such is at the mercy of Satan. When you hate, allow hatred and bitterness, the defence or wall of protection around your life is removed. This is the reason why the Bible says you should not avenge yourself, even when you are mistreated (Romans 12:19).

In an attempt to avenge yourself or to fight the person who offended you, you give the devil a chance or an opportunity to step into your life.

Jesus Christ said a similar thing:
38 “YOU HAVE HEARD THAT IT WAS SAID, ‘AN EYE FOR AN EYE AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.’
39 BUT I TELL YOU NOT TO RESIST AN EVIL PERSON. BUT WHOEVER SLAPS YOU ON YOUR RIGHT CHEEK, TURN THE OTHER TO HIM ALSO.
40 IF ANYONE WANTS TO SUE YOU AND TAKE AWAY YOUR TUNIC, LET HIM HAVE YOUR CLOAK ALSO.
41 AND WHOEVER COMPELS YOU TO
GO ONE MILE, GO WITH HIM TWO.
42 GIVES TO HIM WHO ASKS YOU, AND FROM HIM WHO WANTS TO BORROW
FROM YOU DO NOT TURN AWAY."

All Jesus was saying here in the above passage is, you should allow whoever wants to do whatever; you just bring the matter to Him—Jesus, God—and allow Him to defend you or fight your cause.

When you walked in love, you would not be hostile or biased in your opinions about other people, either believers or nonbelievers.
You also would want to live at peace with others, as the Bible enjoined: "IF IT IS POSSIBLE, AS MUCH AS DEPENDS ON YOU, LIVE PEACEABLY WITH ALL MEN" (Romans 12:18 NKJV).
