THE LOVE OF CHRIST
"WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
There is no one that can separate a steadfast believer from the love of Christ. However, not being separated from the love of Christ is premised on your steadfastness as a believer in Christ—walking in the light of God's Word.
If you, as a believer, are walking at the brink of sins or playing with sins, you would be separated real good.
It is not a mandated issue that you cannot be separated once you are born-again, you can be separated greatly If you walked in the path of sinfulness.
The only condition or reason why you would not be separated from the love of God in Christ Jesus is when you keep yourself from sinning or being contaminated.
Some people who are the proponent of the wrong interpretation of that passage of the Bible had the thought that the passage of the Bible is saying once you are born-again you cannot be separated from Jesus Christ, even when you are carefree in the way you live your life and live in sin. But such interpretation is wrong and far from the truth. Even if there is any immunity or shield for sin because you are born-again, it would only be If you stay away from sin—when you walk not in sinfulness. If you are walking in sin, you would be separated from Christ big time.
This is one of the reasons why Apostle Paul was telling believers in His epistles to the Thessalonians and Timothy that they should abstain and flee every appearance of evils: "ABSTAIN FROM ALL APPEARANCE OF EVIL" (1 Thessalonians 5:22 NKJV).
"FLEE ALSO YOUTHFUL LUST; BUT PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord OUT OF A PURE HEART."
2 Timothy 2:22 (NKJV)
Being born-again by Grace is not a licence to live irresponsibly and be toiling with sin:
1 WHAT SHALL WE SAY THEN? SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN THAT GRACE MAY ABOUND? 2 CERTAINLY NOT! HOW SHALL WE WHO DIED TO SIN LIVE ANY LONGER IN IT?" (Romans 6:1,2 NKJV)
Peace!
