FREE Online Herbal Medicine Resources
It's no secret that I LOVE herbal medicine! One of my favorite things about herbalism is that the knowledge is shared and passed on to those who wish to engage with it. Yes, it is true you can spend thousands of dollars and be formally educated by an institution to learn the science of herbal medicine, however; I prefer the folk tradition of herbal medicine where people who have engaged with plants and their healing abilities work within their communities to create resilience. In this post, I will share some of my favorite herbalists and their free offerings.
Michael Moore
He is known as an encyclopedia of herbal knowledge. His work has been foundational and is very well respected. When he passed away in 2009 his online herb school was made FREE. This is a huge resource for new herbalists and professionals. The amount of information on these websites is astonishing.

Susun Weed
Oh Susun. Such a character. She will forever be one of my favorite herbalists. For an in-depth post about her visit my post here: https://steemit.com/herbalism/@cassiopeia/lsd-witches-and-herbalism
Susun is well known for her daily use of herbal infusions. She is very clear that they are a wonderful way increase your daily mineral and vitamin intake. I love to make nettle infusions! Stinging nettle is just starting to appear near me and I am SO excited to harvest it! I have already made one trip to my wild patch of nettles.
Susun offers many ways to learn the art of making infusions. If you like to take online courses the last link is to sign up for her FREE course. Otherwise just use the other two links which are rich with information! As Susun would say, "Green Blessings!"

Rosalee de la Floret
I adore Rosalee. She has a gentle but strong personality with a knack for distilling complex information into easily understandable description and instructions. I took her Taste of Herbs course in 2012 and still reference it. This course is not free, however, she does provide so much information on her site Herbal Remedy Advice. Learning herbs is also her project where she has some free resources as well as premium courses. I really enjoy how she combines herbal medicine with food to create holistic health.

Rosemary Gladstar
I couldn't make a post with all these all-stars of American Folk Herbalism without mentioning Rosemary. She is like the grandmother of herbalism keeping a watchful eye on the tradition. Please read the story below.

I actually started my journey to become an herbalist through Learning Herbs. I'm very familiar with all these great herbalist except for Matthew Wood. I'll have to look into his stuff. Thank you for expanding my knowledge resources 😊
Susun Weed also has a podcast on Time Monk Radio. There are several courses on there stuffed with useful information. I will leave the link to there web page below, but I usually listen on YouTube because it's easier to find the specific episode I need.
