The Future Has Many Changes. But Not As Activists Imagine Them.
The future is very different. Almost unimaginable, well, utopians can imagine it, except that it will not happen like they want. Many will not accept the utopia right in front of them because it isn't the path they chose.
If i told you that no one was going to work for the man. That corporations were going to become non-existent. How would you take that? "Yay, but i will believe it when i see it"? Well, you'll see it. And the reasons why is not what any person that glues their hands to the road would think of.
Peace comes to Earth. "Hurray, they shout, and then begin to sing kumbayas" and then fall silent because this peace isn't because we got rid of guns. It might even be said that there are now more guns, more surveillance, more shooting on sight.
McDs goes out of business, to the horror of some, and the shouts of joy from others. It will not be because people march with signs outside of fast food restaurants. It will happen with empty, abandoned restaurants everywhere.

People will no longer work for the "man"
Most people are tired of working for large corporations.
You are supposed to be loyal to the company, but the company isn't loyal to you.
Endless headaches. So many meetings you can't get your work done.
And HR is a mine field you must traverse every day.
Worse, the jobs are meaningless, soulless, mind numbing. You do not know what you are doing, or why.
If you didn't have to work for money, no one would work there.
What if no one had to work for money?
If you lived in a small community/"family"/tribe, where all the buildings were paid for, and you grew your own food. Were mostly self sufficient. Why would you work for an evil, soulless corporation?
If you were really concerned about the health of the planet. And could buy a product from a local producer who created products that would last a life time, and can be repaired, while this local producer is also very concerned about not polluting. Would you buy their product, or the cheap Chinese product designed to fail in a year? Where the pollution in China is soooo bad, that it is noticeable in America, across the ocean.
What happens to corporations is that no one will buy their products AND no one will work for them.
Also, if these corporations refuse to stop polluting, they will be shut down by people not allowing them to continue functioning. As in, a horde of people descend on the offending factory and dismantle it. Rescuing the slaves trapped inside. And probably planting trees and vines to help return the space to nature.
There is nothing in here about negotiating with corporations to stop their evil.

Peace on Earth is coming, and not because everyone just starts getting along.
War will stop because it is seen as shtupid. As in:
1 + 1 = 0 in war
1 + 1 = 2 in peace
1 + 1 = 4 (or more) in win-win negotiations.
The entire premise of Avatar would be seen as shtupid. The entire setup, that we need "energy" and have to destroy these people to take it.
Lets consider oil in modern day. There is no reason we have to drill for oil THERE. Oil is all over the place. The Russians have shown it by drilling very deep wells. The ONLY people who need to drill THERE are psychopaths who love nothing better than the break up/destroy that community. And what they truly want is to control the flow of energy.
So, we recognize that that is what the psychopaths want, and tell them no. You need therapy.
We do not need oil at the cost of people's lives or planetary destruction.
The next part is actual negotiation. Where the people THERE may work out how to get at the oil without destroying themselves. While working with the others to actually get what they need. This is win-win negotiation AND knowing that denying others the things they need to survive leads to war.
And something really opposite of those who want to get rid of guns, in this future that has no war, EVERY small community had AI controlled, machine gun turrets to defend themselves. Kinda like robot dogs, but they are OUR robot dogs. And they really do not need to move around so get rid of the legs. The AI is to tell friend from foe, and alert people that something is incoming.
If you do not believe that such things will be affective against military hardware, we can build hypersonic projectile launching trebuchets. No gunpowder needed, just rocks. If you are worried about high flying bombers. Build balloons with a brick tied to them. These $10 drones, are programmed to just get in the way of hostile aircraft.
Defense capabilities are about to become truly mind boggling. Think of things that Tesla was talking about.

McDs will die, choking on their own poison.
It seems that it is finally here. People are actually studying health.
Not like the FDA figuring out how much of a substance will kill you, and then backing off the dosage to a "safe" level, but actually finding what things actually make for a healthy body.
Calories are a shtupid unit of measurement. It does not tell how much nutrition is in a food product, it tells how well it burns. Wood chips are high in calories, but very low in nutrition for humans.
So, we actually start finding out the nutrition content in food. And, McDs twice cooked burgers will be found to have very little nutrition. While containing a lot of toxic chemicals that are bad for humans.
But, this isn't what destroys McDs. It is people wanting nutritious food, and growing it themselves to feed themselves. And when these people taste the vine ripened tomatoes (as opposed to the green tomatoes ripened with kerosene, grown on factory farms with little soil nutrients) and find out how much better they taste. When the humans find out how much better it tastes, then they will not go back to the factory farmed, lacking nutrition, poisoned, crap.
Basically people will stop going to McDs because they are staying at home and eating better.
There will be fully automated McDs kiosks that nobody visits.

The future is coming. And things are very different.
The biggest shocker will be the path we take to get to the things that we have said we wanted.
Imagine all the forces that go into having a fully automated McDs kiosk. Trying to save money, cut down on problematic human staff, not go bankrupt. And then the other side is people actually seeking out healthy food. And looks a lot like going back to the 18th century. ("We aren't supposed to go backwards! We are supposed to go forward with better technology, making 'steak' without cow farts. What do you mean we now have more cows pooping on fields that grow our vegetables?", shout the vegans, who are now shunned by all nutritionists)
The same kind of structural collapse of evil, bad, life destructive, forces happens everywhere.
Again, not because of protests, or people reforming evil. But because the world just walks away.
Sorry WallyMarts, we know longer want to buy anything there.
