Changing culture: Our new culture, companies

A new world culture?

Culture is changing and with it society. Since a society without culture is unimaginable, culture is born, grows, transforms and shares in society. Therefore, imagining a society without culture is impossible. The important questions here are: What is our new culture? How was it born? How do they affect us?

What's our new culture?

Our new culture can be understood if we understand that we are in the era of "postmodernity" a complex term, which alludes to the new beliefs and customs of our present era, where values have changed with respect to the past and the consumption of products, added to the lack of clear meaning about the future, have led us to obtain a new culture. This culture is related to the new power that brands have, a power so great that it has been the cause of the creation of a new world culture.

How was it born?

Culture is born from the interaction of different individuals in a society. However, there is no need for interaction as such. It is enough to introduce certain values, beliefs and customs into a society to have a new culture.

Large companies have introduced a new brand culture into society. One can appreciate how today the philosophy of all companies is; we do not sell products, we sell brands.

The above is understood if we understand that companies try to sell ways of life, values and customs that are easy to identify with their logos.
For example: if you want to have health buy X product that is associated to X logo. In this way the quality of the product does not matter, what matters is the message it conveys.

How does it affect us?

The new culture, the culture of brands, brings questionable values, since it makes visible the control that large companies have over individuals. In addition to the above, one of the biggest existing problems of our new culture, in addition to consumerism, is the large takeover of public spaces, in which advertising introduces logos on these spaces intended for the recreation of the subject.

Another big problem, very similar to the one mentioned above, is the advertising hidden in the free delivery that is made to low-income people, being the case that when a large company makes a donation many times expands its logo indiscriminately on a product, in such a way that only the logo is seen; transforming the subject into an ad with feet.

Companies have created a new culture formed by our desires, which they themselves have introduced, our postmodern era is synonymous with consumer beings. In this situation the subject is raised, lives and transmits his new culture created by the big companies.
