Kites have been known as traditional games. The existence of the kite itself was very long.

Mentioned by the staff of the Kite Museum, Asep Irawan kite in Indonesia, the most ancient comes from Muna, Southeast Sulawesi.

"It was a long time ago from ancient times, and in Muna, Southeast Sulawesi, there are kite flying from colope leaves, so it was said that people want to reach God by flying kites," Asep explained.

God's search process with the kite is depicted on the wall of the cave, using the blood and sap of a brownish-red plant. Until now the ancient paintings can be seen in Goa Sugi Patani, Liang Kabori Village, Muna Island.

German kite fan Wolfgang Bieck claims that the kite from Muna is older than the kite from China. It makes the world's oldest kite from Muna, Indonesia.

Muna community itself is still preserving the making of kites using kolope leaves. The kite is known as 'kaghati kolope'. "The unique grave in the Muna people is given a kite as a roof, if I do not know what it means," said Asep.

Muna's kite made from kolope leaves became one of the collections at the Kite Museum on Jalan H. Kamang no. 38, Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. In addition to viewing kite collections from various regions in Indonesia and abroad, visitors can also learn to make their own kites at this museum.
