Experts warn of possible internet apocalypse

in #esteem6 years ago

Experts from the ICANN organization that manages Internet addresses warn of potential serious network problems that may occur after October 11, reports rg.ru.

Experts say some internet resources may be inaccessible and other sites may be found very slowly.

The reason is the first in the history of internet switching DNS system keys, which converts the letter address of the site into a digital IP address.

The browser request enters the DNS server that finds in the database which IP matches the letter address and then directs the browser there.

Replacing the letter address with a digital address is necessary for security reasons, but the transition may cause serious problems, the newspaper adds.

In 2010, the DNSSEC service was specifically set up to protect against hackers in DNS. It ensures that when a given address is entered, the user falls on it, not a malicious "duplicator" designed to steal information.
