The Syrian Civil Defense Organization or White Helmets claims to continue operating in rebel-held areas. It will continue to be done amid the threat of freezing funds for the humanitarian group by the United States (US).

"Our work will not be disturbed and all existing projects will continue to run and will not be stopped, our volunteers will continue to operate," White Helmet chairman Raed Saleh told Algeria on Saturday (5/5).
White Helmet is a humanitarian organization operating in conflict-ridden areas of Turkey and Syria. The group is made up of a group of teachers, bakers and civilians.
Furthermore, Raed Saleh said White Helmet did not receive direct support from the US and any country. He said the funds obtained by the humanitarian group came from donations from other organizations and associations.
However, launching from the official page, White Helmet received funds directly from Mayday Rescue, a company based in the UK. The group also received financial assistance from Chemonics, a US government contractor working in Rwanda, Honduras and the Maldives and specializing in international development and management.
The US State Department has previously said it will freeze funding for the Syrian White Helmets humanitarian group. The State Department said the support was under active review.
Authorities need US President Donald Truimp's approval to continue providing funding for the group to help keep the financial aid going. The White House has frozen more than $ 200 million in funds dedicated to 'recovery efforts' a day after Trump declared the US to leave Syria immediately.
