Kebanyakan dari startup itu menghadirkan layanan jual beli (exchange) cryptocurrency. Namun demi memudahkan pemahaman masyarakat sekaligus mengikis stigma negatif, para startup tersebut cenderung menyebut cryptocurrency sebagai aset digital.
Beberapa startup yang lain mencoba menerapkan teknologi blockchain secara langsung di dunia nyata, seperti dengan menghadirkan mesin kasir atau layanan transfer uang lintas negara yang memanfaatkan teknologi tersebut. Sejumlah pihak-pihak lain justru memilih untuk membuat organisasi atau yayasan yang bertujuan mengedukasi masyarakat dan para perusahaan di tanah air terkait teknologi baru ini.
