Vitalik Buterin should be worried about EOS
The Ethereum blockchain launched in the summer of 2015 and successfully changed the way we view blockchain use cases. Ethereum has launched 100's of erc20 tokens on its platform and is still the most popular choice for decentralized applications or dapps to crowdsale. In its current state, Ethereum can only handle approximately ten transactions per second, not nearly enough to support a successful dapp, let alone hundreds of erc20 tokens and this is forcing Ethereum based projects to find alternatives.
Icon, Omisego, Vechain, Tron and EOS are the most successful ERC20 tokens to date and are all in the process of launching their mainnets and dissolving their status as an ERC20. With the launch of the EOS mainnet in June, we may finally get a blockchain operating system that's able to support 1000's of successful dapps and I believe is a real threat to Ethereum's market share.
Code is currently being written to allow the seemless port of any ERC20 token and it's token holders to the EOS platform. The initial purpose is to port the upcoming Everipedia air dropped tokens at time of EOS mainnet launch but any ERC20 could do the same. I found this to be huge news. If EOS delivers on their vision, I could see many, many ERC20's moving to the platform to build their business because Ethereum is unable to scale.
I used to be an Ethereum holder but no longer hold any coins because of risk factors like this. Its current market cap of over 80 billion dollars seems to ignore a growing group of competitors looking to become what Ethereum hasn't been able to, scalable. Ethereum investors, be careful with this one, even Vitalik isn't so sure.
Is he talking about Cryptocurrency? Or is this foreshadowing for his concern about the future price of Ethereum? Stay tuned...
Thanks for sharing this Information @honeydew2002 and yes we already can see the first announcements of Ethereum Projects who are willing to move to EOS.
