RE: Andreas Antonopoulos- Ethereum Q&A: ICOs and pyramid schemes

in #ethereum7 years ago

Solid information. @brianphobos just suggested Andreas' youtube channel to me the other day, and I've been watching. Clearly a smart dude.

I have to wonder, though, what he means by calling the student loan market a pyramid scheme. I'm drowning in student loans, and I can think of a number of ways that good intentions led to bad results. But I'm not seeing the pyramid-scheme tie-in. Anyone else have a thought on that?

Sort:

for information on Bitcoin Ethereum economics and Blockchain in general is no better man than Andreas.

What he means with Ponzi structures in student loans is they are unsustainable from the start as the pay grade you would need immediate is unfeasible and are essentially ponzi schemes laid out by 'big finance'

In a video I was watching, he said that Mastering Bitcoin was very technical, so it's probably beyond me. But I recently picked up The Internet of Money, so I'm looking forward to jump into that.

not all of it is but it is heavy on the programming side
a better book discussing more on economic and cryptography theory would be

"Before Babylon, Beyond Bitcoin: From Money That We Understand to Money That Understands Us" by David Birch

i have a copy in Pdf if want can drop in a discord message

That would be fantastic - I'd love to give it a read. So far, I haven't quite figured out Discord though. :) I've hopped on twice to two different... discord channels?... for about ten seconds each. Not sure how to receive a message?

sent in message should see in top left

yeah and big servers are a bit counterintuitive to learning discord with so many pop ups and frequency of messages cant keep up

i think is better starting to find a more niche server to start and find your legs here is link for one think might be interested in
