An Upsetting Day on Steemit and Not Because I have CryptoPuppies

in #etherstocks7 years ago

Now on a more serious note, there are a lot of people on steemit that are against vote bots. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I personally don't have an issue with them. I totally agree that is sucks you have to use vote bots for real exposure on steemit, but downvoting steemeans that use vote bots with legit posts is just counterproductive. Its just spreads toxicity and confrontation in the community. I was recently in a confrontation with @beanz over downvoting me. Normally I wouldn't care, but beanz has 50,000+ SP. The thing she doesn't realize is, the vote bots aren't profitable. The profit comes from whether or not steemeans upvote you after it Trends. If you vote bot a crappy posts to trending, you will lose SBD. On top of that I give away SBD to you guys in contests. Beanz took away SBD that I would normally be used in a contest just because she doesn't like voting bots. So now, I have to exchange my personal money to try and get these posts visible. Then wait a week and hope that I didn't lose SBD. I understand the frustration, but you could have given 8 minnows an upvote worth $20+ USD each instead! Save downvotes for Spam! Spread Upvotes to the community instead. Full disclosure I called @beanz something I shouldn't have, but it honestly felt like they came in my home and stole money from my wallet. Here's an idea, help make Promoted worth it and then the bots go out of business.

Is CryptoPuppies in Trouble?

CryptoPuppies.org hasn't been receiving much attention from the gaming community. I'm pretty sure they stopped spawning Gen-0's. I think they are learning that CryptoKitties did a better job than people give them credit for. Also, CryptoPuppies.org may just be a casualty of being late to market. They do have one Ace up their sleeve....Mini-Games. They promise to have mini-games you can play with your puppy. The first of these is coming soon. I think this will be the true test as to whether CryptoPuppies.org will survive or not.

There is a lot wrong with steemit but people seem to have entrenched positions and refuse to consider other views. If you agree that the best content should rise to the top, then self voting, circle jerking and vote bots would all be banned. As they are not banned and people do these, I have no issue with doing them myself. If these types of behaviour were banned, I think steemit would be a very different place but it is what it is!

Spreading toxicity across the platform will not do the platform any good, those downvotes could have had a better use, but when searching for these abusers its quite difficult to search out the good intentioned ones like yours amongst the multitude of abusers, although spotting spam shouldnt be that much of a rocket science. Anyway, thanks for all your support and giveaways. I go now to check the buy of the day. Cheers

Thank you for sharing this.
Bots are used basically for promotions and not profits. In my opinion, only if I have a good content will I want to promote it. Otherwise I stay on my lane.
I’m loving etherstocks and infact I joined the discord. I also follow on twitter

This information is being presented in the interest of transparency on our platform @brittuf and is by no means a judgement of your work.

Feel free to practice using your DOWNVOTE on this pointless bot. It just pointless SPAM. If you want to see the highest votes on a post, just click votes

Your post is always different i follow your blog everytime, your post is so helpful.I always inspire of your post on my steem work.Thank you for sharing @brittuf & follow me

This is the type of content that should be down-voted, its irresponsible.

Ok. I have to ask. I guess I'm still a newb. How do you down-vote ?

You see the flag button on top of each (the opposite side of the user name) post/comment? Click it.

But when downvoting you spend your voting power to decrease the post instead of increasing it, meaning when you downvote you lose money. So you should do that only to people who really deserve it.

My crypto puppy died of starvation.

RIP fomo the dog.

That happened to me with a virtual puppy on a game off of Facebook when Facebook first started becoming popular. It wanted to install something in order for the game to run (after I had already created said virtual dog) and at the time I was living with my parents and they didn't want that installed on the shared computer so instead my dog starved to death as I couldn't access the game properly without that installed. My partner and I did in more recent years find a tamagotchi in one of those things in the shops that you put coins in to get a toy / keychain etc in a ball out of, and regretted it. It was nostalgic at first because it was a real tamagotchi and I thought it was cool to see one of them again, then it was annoying and beeped all night and then died by the morning and wasn't really as much fun as I thought it was as a kid so we let it die overnight yet again and then never reset it.

I get that you are upset.

But here is your problem

"but it honestly felt like they came in my home and stole money from my wallet."

It might of felt like that and you might of felt personally attacked of course I don't know if it was your content or a grudge..

But we all must realize that the mind set that we have a right to earn is and should not be so.

But like I stated above I feel what you mean, it sucks being downvoted and rewards "not taken, but re-distribute" While I do not like downvotes because in its current system it seems like a type of censorship due to the transparency of the post.

Keep on posting and keep on giving away kittens, you should be fine just keep in mind any one can do anything with their stake.

Awww such an heartbreaking thing to be downvoted by a 50,000 sp . I understand your frustration but the risk an individual faces is self risk using a bot, if people don’t like bots and could downvote people using bots, then witnesses should deliberate on whether to have bots on Steemit or not .
Cryptopuppies will definitely rise to the limelight, it’s a positive assurance my friend

You're correct
It hurts when one spends hours making good post without upvotes coming even after 7days.
I believe that using the bots gives self satisfaction, at least while looking at your blog.
As you rightly said, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion.
Thanks for this post @brittuf

Absolutely right .and effective thought @brittuf... Bots are sometimes give profit but sometimes investing on bots are loss for us... Hope that CryptoPuppies.org will survive and gives us service... we should just wait and see..I am just joining your sharing discord link buddy..
