Passion-Stoking Blocks to Current NY Resolutions & Further Intro
We are now rounding the fourth week of January in 2018, and I don't know about anyone else, but it's been a rather long month. My own beginning of the year had me prioritizing minimalization and sleep as primary goals to get the New Year going, but as soon as I sprang out of the gate, the concept of cryptocurrency hit me.
I've been reading The Age of Cryptocurrency: How Bitcoing and Digital Money Are Challenging the Global Economic Order...

...and for the first time I'm strongly WANTING to see the global economic order challenged, probably an after-effect of the 2016 US election.
Pursuing knowledge about cryptocurrency altered my thinking about trust in the government and its partnership with corporations and especially the banking system. Reading about how Wikileaks were involved also brought a second looks to my negative view of both it and Julian Assange, who I perceived as having played a part in destroying the chances of Clinton and giving us Donald Trump on a silver platter, which I have not been happy about. I wrote on Medium about this earlier in the year:
Seeing the potential of crypto on life as we know it also brought to my mind continuing pauses about previous presidents Clinton and Obama, and if truth be told, the whole American economic and political system.
Sufficed to say, sleep became more challenging because of my curiosity about all of this, about cryptocurrency's potential financially, and because of the possibility of the global order being challenged. So, steemit for me, while a writing platform, seems to be evolving in my mind also as a place of community around economics and politics.
I'm a therapist by trade, so naturally my writing focus has oriented toward self-help topics such as goal setting;

being kind,
and even death and grieving.

I have poetry as well, that I'll save for another post, as well as writing about consciousness, which is related somewhat to mindfulness, which seems to be a hot buzzword these days. We'll see how the formatting goes on this post, and depending on on how steep my learning curve is, with any luck there will be more posting soon.
