The popular social media is turning away from Facebook, the US youth A survey by research firm Pew Research has revealed that. News CNBC.In May and June, Pew Research conducted survey of 3,400 Facebook users of 18-29 years in the United States. It is found that 44 percent of these users have uninstalled the Facebook app from their phones last year. But some of them later re-installed the app.42 percent of respondents said they did not stop using Facebook for weeks or more. 54 percent of users re-set their privacy settings.Although Facebook Inc does not indicate any kind of collapse as the survey organization. The survey was done on Facebook app only. Other popular apps owned by Facebook, such as Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, were not included in the survey. Moreover, this survey is limited to the United States only. While Facebook growth in North America has slowed down, it is increasing in other parts of the world.
However, this survey indicates that users are monitoring the Facebook crisis and in response to the use of social media.In recent times, Facebook has been involved in controversy one after another. The US intelligence agency FBI reported that Russians used social media to spread false news around the US presidential election in 2016. Cambridge Analyst, a political research institute, has alleged that Facebook user's personal information was misused.On Wednesday, Facebook's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sheryl Sandberg testified about the organization's initiative to prevent interference in the presence of the US Senate Intelligence Committee. Recently, Facebook's former security chief Alexander Stamos warned that the United States is not ready to face foreign intervention in the mid-2015 elections, as 2016.These debates are also affecting the financial condition of Facebook.
