IF YOU ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT

“But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”
Galatians 5:18 (NKJV)

The reason why someone who is being led by the Spirit is not under the law is that the person would not live contrary to the law. In other words, if you are led by the Holy Spirit through your recreated human spirit, you would not be led against the law. It means the Holy Spirit will not lead you to live contrary to the law.
Whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to do will always be in line with the law. Thus, you would not need the rigour of going back every now and then to check whether what you have done is in
line with the law.
If you are sure that you are led by the Holy Spirit through your recreated human spirit, be sure that what you are led to do is line with the law.
Thus, a New Testament believer is not literally living under the law. It does not mean that a New Testament believer will not regard the law; he will, but not by being slavishly committed to it, monitoring everything he does and weighing it in the light of the Old Testament law. The fact that New Testament believers have the Holy Spirit on the inside of their recreated human spirit, they can easily be prompted, moved and led from the inside to do
or not to do, by the Holy Spirit, whatever they are contemplating on. And whatever they are moved or prompted to do by the Holy Spirit on their inside is automatically in line with God’s will or
Word, the law.
Thus, the primary thing which a New Testament believer should pay attention to is sharpening his perceptiveness—his ability to receive a message from intuition, from his human spirit that is
the abode of the Holy Spirit. The recreated human spirit has three active parts:
I. The conscience–the voice of the human spirit.
II. The fellowship–the part through which the believer worships God (John 4:23,24).
III. The intuition–the part through which the voice of God or intention of God or a message from God is received or made known through the Holy Spirit on the inside.
If you build a rapport and you are conversant with the Holy Spirit, your human spirit will always know the mind or will of God on every matter of life. You will always have a knowing on the inside of you as regards whether something you wanted to do is God’s
will or not. You will always know whether to proceed or not in whatever you want to do.
