Post apocalyptic fashion inspirations for your street style

in #fashion7 years ago (edited)

The post-apocalyptic era is a hypothetical situation in which the Earth’s technological civilization is collapsing or has collapsed which has been triggered due to thermal nuclear warfare or a more fictitious zombie apocalypse or for reasons that humans don’t have control over. the post-apocalyptic time frame is often visualized as the world where only scattered elements of society and technology remain.This post-apocalyptic era has fascinated us for a long time  and this concept has been implemented in every form of media we consume, now this concept is so popular that this might have lead fashion designers to imagine the type of clothing that people might adapt to survive in those circumstances.

Post apocalyptic fashion

post-apocalyptic fashion style draws a lot of inspiration from the tech wear style such as the use of hood and asymmetrical designs but one key difference is in the use of fabric, Tech wear primarily uses synthetic fabrics while apocalyptic fashion prefers natural fabrics like sturdy leathers, cotton, and wool. considerably for the rigidity and comfort.

DEMOBAZA has been producing some amazing clothing line purely encircling the post apocalyptic fashion idea and they seem to a great job at drawing the line between the tech/cyberpunk and post apocalyptic fashion.

I am more inclined to call this as 'cyberpunk' or 'cyber goth' styles of clothing, rather than 'post apocalypse'. It would not at all be out of place within more sci-fi oriented movies such as The Matrix, Blade Runner, a marvel or DC superhero flick, or perhaps even showier sci-fi pieces like 'The 5th Element' and 'Valerian and the city of 1000 planets'.

IMO, if you want to look at real down and dirty post apocalypse high fashion, then you should be looking at Mad Max (especially the sequels), Waterworld (kevin costner), the Book of Eli, Avalon (by Mamoru Oshii), and if so inclined to, Tank Girl.

i understand ur point but the ones are shown in the mad max arent really practical for fashion aesthetics in real life day to day use
