The French team cellebrating their victory
After an animated game, the Blues finally took command at the end and won the game. A lot of people may think that it be down to the referees controversial decision of awarding France with a penalty. However, if you see the stats for all the goal kicks, Croatia were off Target on many of their goal kicks although they did have more attempts than France. The French we're more accurate and that is what took them to victory.
The last time the French won was Twenty years ago in 1998. I was amazed to see a spectator in the crowd holding the 1998 news paper issue of the the win. The people of France must be in high spirits today especially after cellebrating Bastille day.
Weldone to both teams for making history today! The Croatian team also ranked in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, closing in on 3rd place. They did very well to come this far!
