Return of the Living Dead 3 (1993)

Directed by Brian Yuzna. Starring Melinda Clarke, J. Trevor Edmond, Kent McCord, Sarah Douglas, Basil Wallace, James T. Callahan, Mike Moroff, and Dana Lee.

Curt's dad is a Colonel at a top secret facility where they're trying to weaponize the undead, and obviously that's the best placed to take your date. Curt and Julie then witness what they think is someone being brought back from the dead.

Later, for reasons, Curt and Julie decide to runaway to Seattle, but a motorcycle accident stops their travel plans as Julie ends up with a mild case of the 'being deads'. Curt then sneaks the corpse into the base and revives her, and the two head off into the sun....oh, and now Julie likes eating brains.

The film was originally slated for a wider theatrical release. But after Warlock: The Armageddon underperformed at the box office, Trimark decided to pull back promotion on the film and released it regionally in limited release. The film was released Unrated on VHS in addition to the R-Rated theatre cut. Yuzna trimmed "between 50 and 60" moments to get the R Rating. It’s unclear which versions were released in other regions, as places like the UK use different rating systems.

Brian Yuzna had expressed interest in writing a fourth RotLD movie. Which would’ve taken place directly after the events in this movies, with the zombies having escaped the military base and running amok in Los Angeles.

Although Yuzna didn’t get to make his movie two more movies were released in 2005 under the Return of the Living Dead banner, Rave to the Grave and Necropolis.
