What to do when your ego is hit on Steemit. Stay focussed!

in #flagging7 years ago (edited)

I was just reading @aggroed's post here and realized instantly: This is how I should do it!

This makes Steemit so great. The informative useful posts that are shared. And in this case it was aggroed. If you happen to read this once. It came at the right time and it made the light shine for me. I would like to thank you for your advice!

For those who do not want to read his post fully, but want to know what made me wake up, I will quote him:

Resorting to flagging is sorta like resorting to solving problems with your fists rather than your words. It might work, and you might get your ass beat. I would suggest finding ways to deescalate the situtation. Rather than flagging and revenge flagging try to find a common ground and common people to talk out your differences.

This is exactly what is happening to me. I asked someone critical questions and was then flagged. This was not only the case, he went a step further. I will not describe exactly what happened, but I was shocked. It made sure I couldn't sleep for hours.

What do you do when your ego is hit

My first feeling was that I should not let this pass me by. Because, when your ego is hit. The first thing your mind says, you do not have to accept that. You will not let this pass you by. Come on, give that guy a verbal uppercut.

Fortunately, I have given myself the time to let this feeling drop, so you start wondering exactly what happened and what it means exactly. And then I automatically come to the next piece, which I have to quote again:

What do you do if you get flagged by a whale?!? You should fucking laugh your head off and be grateful for the opportunity. At the moment when you receive the flag it's likely that you're raging mad, fuming that some other asshole could dare to flag your post, but what you're missing is the attention that flags bring to your content.

You were probably sitting there with 600 followers and almost no one reading your shit. Then a mega whale on the platform flags some stuff. That can be a turning point for you! Use that to make an argument of why you aren't a worthless shit, why you get to say or write cool stuff, and why people should support you despite the flag by big mean (insert whale name here). This doesn't mean you're getting out of shit any time soon, but it may be that you get more exposure, followers, and votes from receving the flag than you did the entire time before it.

If you're getting flagged by a whale don't go balistic and write a rage quit letter, but instead be humble and thankful for the flag and try to judo the whales power and prestige to elevate your account.

Indicate your added value

I am not flagged by a whale, but more like a dolphin. Anyway, he has a lot more steem power than I ever will have. So I certainly can not count on that. But what I find much more interesting is: Indicate why you are not a worthless hope of shit.

For the record. The beating did not feel good. But I accept it and am glad that I am awake. Even more, I thank you for it. I do not mention his name, but he undoubtedly reads this article.

It is clear to me that I should not lose sight of my own goals in life. And one goal is: I would like to develop myself further in the crypto world. I love to do reviews of coins. Sift them completely. And then explain to my followers why the coin is interesting.

Next review: AdSigma

This gives a nice bridge to my next review that will soon take place. Soon I will go through AdSigma completely. Through their white paper, I dive into their bitcointalk forum and then explore the telegram and social media. When the total image has become clear, I'll ask questions to forum members. Also, I'll ask AdSigma team members the necessary questions. And for the finishing touch, I like to give more information about the person(s) who started the project. in this way you better understand that these people really go for it. That this is a real project that has a chance of success.

This takes a lot of time, but it gives a good first impression of AdSigma.

Folluw up

Then there can always be a folluw up. If I think about that, then I would immediately suggest to make a good comparison with competitors offering the same.

What are the differences and similarities. How far are the projects developing in relation to each other? How likely is it that AdSigma succeeds and why?

you can use this format: Steem Tips: Aggroed's rules to Flag Wars. // First rule. Don't get into flag wars!

I'm not sure but this seem to work for me in not getting Cheetah's attention. Steem on, my friend.

Sometimes you read posts which are inspiring and add something to your Steemit experience therefor I quoted it. But ok, cheetah voted it. It doesn't matter. I don't like it but ok, can't change anything about it.

More important for me is the problem that People who post worthless shit are rewarded heavely because the have a lot of steempower. That's not fair. I read there are witnesses who are trying to do something about it, but it seems to me very difficult to make it work.

Hi! I am a robot. I just upvoted you! I found similar content that readers might be interested in:
