Flowers of the Yorkshire Dales 3

The Common Blue butterfly often visits one of our local hay meadows, but are very difficult to get a picture of, they are very lively indeed.

Whilst on a walk on the fells we found this butterfly on the heather but not sure what it is?

We stopped for a few minutes rest and noticed this tiny freind taking a free ride and all around us were dozens of these tiny baby frogs, it was hard not to move without them hopping about.

In a tiny clearing where the sheep had been grazing back the grass we found this small bunch of Common Eyebright with their gaping eyelashes, many flower are by now all in flower together where as many as 300 flowers and grasses can be seen in only a miles walk.

A common sight on our farm in a marshy area that was fenced of from the sheep, a Fritillary butterfly.

In the same wet patch are these Marsh Marigolds, late spring to early summer and the whole area turns bright yellow and the frogs begin to hop about.

A little further along the wet area are thousands of hese Ragged Robins.

A common sight on old walls in most places, the Ivy Leaved Toadflax, the bumble bees rreally like these.

Another medicinal the Feverfew, this grows in profusion in our allotment and is a good detterent against the dreaded but equally beautiful Cabbage White Butterfly.

A frequent visitor to our allotment is the Common Ringlet Butterfly, they often basque for many minutes at a time and are easy to photograph.
