Mourinho modest about Sanchez's Old Trafford debut goal
The Chilean yet again run the show as he made his first home bow for the Red Devils after a disappointing outing against Tottenham in midweek.
His move to the Old Trafford side already seems to be paying dividends after putting in an impressive performance in the game against Huddersfield that earned him a staggering 9.3 rating from WhoScored.com.
Having been at stalements in the first 45 minutes against an unyielding Huddersfield side, Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the second half.
Alexis Sanchez doubled up the host's lead midway through the second half from a rebound after his initial attempt from the penalty spot was saved.
Although this may not have been the goal he dreamt about the night before the game, his strike culminated the tireless shift he put in for Jose Mourinho’s team.
Speaking at the end of the game the Portuguese manager, although not overly impressed with the manner in which the goal was scored, commended his star player for his debut day goal and a job well done.
"It was between him and Paul, and I think Paul was nice to him," Mourinho told MUTV after the game.
"It's not the dream goal for Alexis. He would prefer it not to be a penalty, but it's a goal."
Alexis Sanchez ended the day with his second Man-of-the-Match award in his third game for Manchester United.
