Buffon Indicted UEFA

Turin - Juventus goalkeeper and captain Gianluigi Buffon is threatened with sanctions. Buffon was charged UEFA due to an aggressive reaction to referee Michael Oliver in the Champions League.

Buffon is red-carded for being angry at Olivier when Juve are knocked out by Real Madrid despite winning 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the second leg, a month ago. 40-year-old footballer is suing the referee's decision for giving Madrid a penalty in injury time.

As is known, the penalty is then a decisive breakthrough El Real with 4-3 aggregate.

Buffon's anger continued after the game. The World Cup winner with the Italian national team criticized Oliver, doubting his ability, though later apologizing.

Following this incident, Oliver and his wife received unpleasant treatment from fans. UEFA also condemned the action.

Reported by Sky Sports, Buffon is considered to have violated the 'general principles of behavior'. The UEFA Disciplinary Commission will make the case's decision on May 31.

Even if UEFA later found guilty, Buffon may not be serving a sentence. Buffon is widely rumored to be retiring from professional football this summer.
