How the free man lost his freedom?

Man was free when he was a hunter gatherer. He was free when his tribe was small. But when he united as a society and came under the authority of state, since then he lost his independence and become part of a mob.

Authoritarian regimes as well as democratic states have maintained his slavery till now.
We developed as a society and had progressed immensely by forming as societies but it is also true that in that process we had to compromise our individual sovereignty.

We had an illusion for some time that we would be free and individual sovereignty would be restored once we get a chance to elect our representatives through election process, the backbone of the democratic system.

Present status of individual sovereignty.

We have progressed so much in modern world in perspective of technological and economical advancement that we have become unchangeable species on this world. However, individual sovereignty is becoming a distant dream in present world. This world is almost becoming a hell thanks to the powerful greedy people and ignorant masses. Powerful elites are using commoners as resources and tools to spread their empire. They run media, they have political and economic power in their hands and moreover they have control over the key resources that are essential for living of the masses i.e. food, water (even air) and land resources.

Tools of slavery.

We are even losing control of our own minds. These powerful people can manipulate the thought process of commoners with the help of media, political, religious and economic propaganda, entertainment industry, internet, NGOs and so many other ways. They can fabricate an environment in which people won’t realize that whatever they are liking or disliking depends on what these people want them to like or dislike.

Accumulation of excessive wealth and the advancement of science and technology have helped the powerful and corrupt people to such an extent that in the near future the word ‘revolution’ will disappear from the world and can only be use to represent some technological advancement.

In this era of surveillance technologies, they can watch every activity of the people and ‘digitalization of everything’ will help them to accomplish this task. Overpopulation is deteriorating the situation. The poor (and ignorant one) are not realizing that by giving birth to a lot of children, they are not helping themselves or doing anything better for their children. In fact they are maintaining unabated supply of slaves to the masters. Increasing number of the poor only helps the rich who can have more slaves, cheap laborers and potential customers to buy the goods manufactured by their factories. Politicians also get benefit of large populations as they have more voters and their chances of gaining political power increases with the growth of the population.
This population growth is being depicted as Demographic dividend.

Will this gain of demographic dividend remain perpetual?

Answer is ‘no’ because this gain (of demographic dividend) is temporary as the era of nanotechnology, robotics, automation, artificial intelligence and 3 D printers has given an opportunity to the rich to recruit robots and replace humans as workers. Jobs are becoming scarce in many countries because the industrialists are preferring robots for their factories. Hence, the overpopulation has become a big problem for most of the countries. Even the western countries are facing problems originated by overpopulation in under-developed countries because flocks of illegal immigrants are entering these countries in search of jobs, and good life and creating problems there. Our greed for wealth is also harming the environment of this planet and overpopulation is deteriorating the situation. So, the matter has become very critical in present world. In this situation powerful people are forced to take tough action which is resulting in accumulation of immense power in their hands and tighter control over the people. Certainly, individual sovereignty is being confined in present world.
So, this is becoming a vicious cycle in which powerful are becoming more powerful and weaker are becoming more weak.

How can this problem be solved?

• In near future the living condition in the planet earth may become so hazardous that the rich will be forced to search for some other earth like planets where they may settle or they might eliminate a large part of the population so that the environment and living conditions of this planet may be improved and may remain intact on this planet.
• If people are willing to stop this from happening, they should take every step to control population explosion. For this social awareness and strict laws must be formed so that over population may not become problem.
• Accumulation of power in few hands should not be allowed. For this decentralized blcokchain based cryptocurrencies can play a very significant role.
• We’ll have to curb our insatiable desire for blind development which is causing destruction of our own habitat.
• Environmental conditions of this planet must be improved. This is the key.
