The three wanted to play outside but because of the rain decided to make Strawberry Shortcake instead.

Apricot and her pet-hops-a lot went to sit down at the kitchen table to cut the organic strawberries into tiny little pieces before mashing them into the wonderfully delicious filling. Strawberry shortcake was taking the angel food cake out of the oven. Soon the sweet aroma of cake and strawberries filled the room. The prepared hot pot of apricot tea to have with their strawberry shortcake. As they ate the divine fluffy cake and the ripest of red strawberries they shared stories. Stories about their many adventures and the dreams they had yet to fulfill.

During the time they were eating the rain stopped, and they noticed the sun coming out through the windows. The three went to the door and peeked outside. The sun was shining, and the clouds had parted. The sky turned to blue. They put their rain boots on and decided to go jump in the puddles for fun. When they went outside, they held hands and looked up above their little pink cottage and saw the most wondrous of things.

It was Apricot-hop-a lot very first rainbow. She was moved by the beauty of all the colors. Gratitude filled her heart. She was so happy that she softly whispered to Strawberry Shortcake and her bunny, “I am so happy that my first rainbow was shared with you.”
