For over an hour, Kemi had been secretly rummaging through her schoolbag. She was sweating as though she’d just stepped out of a shower.
“Everyone, submit your notebooks,” the teacher announced as she entered the classroom. “If you did not do your assignment, or if you forgot your notebook at home, you will receive six strokes of the cane—and I mean it.”
Poor Kemi couldn’t find her notebook, even though she was sure she had packed it that morning.
As the teacher moved from desk to desk, checking assignments and delivering punishments, Kemi bent low under her table, crying and shaking as if struck by a terrible fever. The teacher soon noticed her muffled sniffling and approached, cane in hand, demanding to know where her notebook was.
“I d-didn’t f-find it,” Kemi stammered.
Just as the teacher was about to order her outside to kneel for punishment, Kemi’s seatmate pointed toward a boy in the front row. “Isn’t that your book with Tunde? That’s your handwriting.”
The teacher took the notebook and saw Kemi’s name written inside. It turned out Tunde had stolen it, wrapped it in newspaper, and scribbled his name on the cover. Fortunately, Kemi always wrote her name on every fourth page of her notebooks.
Furious, the teacher tripled Tunde’s punishment. That day, Tunde the notebook thief became the scapegoat meant to teach everyone a lesson.

Hi Arito. The writers moved from here to another Community called CCC.

I was expecting more fantasy, but yes that kind of teacher can be felt like a nightmare, that kind of physical punishment is not acceptable

Ohh, no wonder it looked dry before I posted, I wondered why before posting. Should have checked some info on ccc community

Don't mind my extreme brain download into the freewrite 😂😂. My mind always travels to what I've seen or experienced when I freewrite. Child hood times were more traumatic than this though😩😩.

I'm sorry to hear that. If those experiences are of any use to you, you can explore them in your blog as literature and reflections. I hope to read more from you and see how you evolve.

Okay @ blessed life, thanks for stopping by🙏
