My phone never captures the intensity of the color anyway ... so already the photo is edited with its birth. I often try to remember what it looked like and recreate it. I have run to calling my photos ... digital art. I think that gets around the purists. And what can you say when the edit takes your breath away, like theses sunset shots ... I say edit away; photos aren't accurate anyways.
