Rescue Diary - Little Daisy heads towards her new life
Poor little Daisy is a 10 month old mostly chocolate Labrador Retriever stray that was found wandering thin and hungry at a worksite in Texas.
The family took in the sweetest little puppy and cared for her but they realized that despite what a sweet and lovable dog she was, Daisy needed a family that could better care for her and give her the attention that she needed.

So the rescue folks here in Tucson Arizona stepped up and agreed to take her in and this past weekend I was lucky enough to be a big part of her journey.
It was going to be a long drive from Cottonwood up to the AZ/NM state line in Lupton but it was a very familiar route as it seemed that I am frequently asked to drive up there for a transport.
At least the weather was mild and clear and the traffic wasn't bad for the 4 plus hour drive up to Lupton.
Daisy arrived after a bit having traveled from Corpus Christi TX the day before but she was a gentle rider and was happy to get out and stretch her puppy legs a bit.

Then it was time for her last legs down to her new home (for now) in a nice big house in Tuscon with plenty of space for her curious and active little body.
Like most rescues (and Labrador Retrievers in general) Daisy settled right into the ride and sprawled out on Lulu's fluffy bed in the back seat for what was going to be a good 5 hour trip.

The milespassed by without any problems as Daisy was probably pretty tired from all the riding and changing drivers but she was a very sweet passenger who was content to nap most of the time only to stir when I had the chance to reach back and give her a scratch or rub her head.

As is always the case the long hours on the highway passed by all too quickly it seemed, especially since I couldn't give Daisy as much attention as I would have liked or been able to do if my wife was driving but when I handed her off hours later she would have only one more hour long ride before she would meet her foster family and be on her way to her new life.
Hope you find your perfect loving family my little sweetheart and have many long years of joy and love.

I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 10 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
