It's time to token up...
Steem-Engine.com is rolling and it makes creating tokens as simple as pie.
I'm working on a new project and a new plan. And tokens are going to fit in real nice.
Tokenomics are a new area for me so I'm still working through some of the mechanics, but the first Steem Game Tokens will be up for grabs in the next 24 hours.
Guess how the tokens will be used and win some GAME
I've already got four uses lined up for the GAME tokens, and more will follow.
If you can guess any of these uses comment below and you might win some tokens.
Even if you don't guess correctly I will still give some tokens for good ideas!
Will the tokens be worth anything?
That is the $64 million question asked about all the new tokens.
I have some ideas but who knows.
But then if you get the tokens for free you may as well hodl some.
Steem-Engine will have their exchange running soon and then the truth will be out there.
How do you create a token?
Steemit Inc are still working on SMTs and they should be with us in the coming months.
In the meantime @yabapmatt and @aggroed from Steem Monsters have teamed up with developer @harpagon to create Steem-Engine.com for smart contracts and token creation on Steem...
Creation of tokens is very straightforward on Steem-Engine.com.
To create a token you have to purchase 100 ENG tokens from the site. The cost of those tokens is currently 100 STEEM to deter too many 'casual' tokens being created. But if you have a good idea and don't have the 100 STEEM the Steem-Engine team invite you to discuss with them.
@yabapmatt and Steem-Engine very kindly provided the ENG tokens for the Steem Game Token creation as a sponsorship for one of the projects the token will be used for. More on that in the next few days.

As the name suggests the GAME token is going to be all about fun.
It will also be about growing the platform and bringing new people into Steem.
If you follow my posts over the next few weeks you will learn how you can get GAME tokens.

Maybe they could be given to a user as a permission to play a certain game, so for example you have to hold a token to play the game. Maybe they could be earned by followers as a loyalty reward, carrying certain rights or advantages to a game. Another idea, they could be "spent" by sending them to the user running the game. Sort of like tokens in an arcade.

I wonder if the token can be used for decentralized market for digital assets that are created in the gaming community as the blockchain continues to deploy gaming Dapps. They can be cards or packs from Steem Monsters or materials from Drug Wars making it easier to transact across the ecosystem.

You could use game tokens to reward people for competitions on Steem. Photography, writing, memes etc. and maybe use them to buy Steem game products such as a Steem Monsters pack or DrugWars speed up or something of that sort. Last one I could think of is for rewarding promoters of all Steem Games.

Well if i understand, you could uses your game token to paid some services, as example if you need an design you could paid with your token, other uses maybe for call some upvotes from a specific persón in social network as steemit, similar to a service other uses maybe as a gift for game players, i Will try in other moment to find other ideas.

To me, I feel like GAME tokens should be associated with a competitive App of some kind, designed to be a mediator for tournaments and games.
So, in this way as a GAME token holder you now have the ability to challenge other GAME token holders to compete in an activity (that ends in a measurable win/lose result - perhaps with parameters you can set like game duration, input what’s at stake etc)
So let’s say that your preferred and strongest game on the blockchain is Steem Monsters. (I can’t think of any other game examples!)
Anyway, you put up the amount of tokens you would be prepared to play for.
Another holder matches it.
The ‘winner’ of the activity/challenge based on whatever criteria, wins those tokens from the other player. Repeat until broke (haha)
Probably a bit far fetched for all you want is just a token, but I think having it as part of an app would maximise it’s use and value.
(I wouldn’t be surprised if this kind of thing already exists in some way. I dunno)

Maybe it can be implemented as a reward from getting achievements by playing games, so when we unlock achievements, we can get GAME tokens.
And if we hodl GAME tokens, every month there's a reward of 1 original game we can get(a game from steam or origin or battlenet or uplay or somewhere else). The winner will be randomly picked from people who has GAME tokens, and the more they have GAME tokens, the higher their chance to get that game.

The tokens could be used as in-game money. I.e. used to purchase items/services in game, and earned through accomplishing tasks or winning battles in game.
The tokens could also be used to earn privileges in game. I.e. the more tokens you hold, the more access you have to exclusive features/items/areas/levels in game. The ability to stake tokens would be helpful here too.
Btw, love this idea and look forward to hearing more about it.
So many ways to use tokens reading contests, writing contests and reviews, best idea for a new app, rewards for helping new folks to the blockchain. There are a few.
