The Games You Might Have Missed from E3 (part 1 of 2)steemCreated with Sketch.

in #gaming7 years ago

Since E3 wrapped up a lot of media outlets have been naming their top picks, and most anticipated games from the event; which is great but some of the smaller developers aren’t getting the coverage they might deserve.

So to help with that, and maybe point some people to games they might enjoy I compiled a list of games from E3 that could be really interesting.

Note* This is a biased list, I tried to choose games that were original in some way, but there was a lot of games that I did not find compelling, but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't good. I would also like to mention that there were a lot of games. Way more than I expected, which is good, but it forced me to create this post in 2 parts. So if you enjoy this upvote and follow to be sure the next part finds its way to your feed.

Without further ado, in no particular order….

Age of Empires Definitive Edition

About :
In 1997, Age of Empires changed RTS games forever. Today, twenty years later, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition begins that transformation anew with all-new graphics, remastered sound and music, and a smooth UI experience rebuilt from the ground up! Play the legendary RTS that started it all!

I wasn’t sure if I should include this, but I was a fan way back in the day, and I just couldn’t say no to it. I didn’t realize this was in development until someone else here on Steemit wrote a post mentioning it. So, needless to say, I am pumped for this…

Griftlands

About :
Griftlands is an RPG where everything is negotiable: money , loyalty - even morality. Choose your character and make your fortune.
* There isn’t much of a detailed description. Check out the video

I’m hoping this game gives you a lot of options to play the game as you choose. (Choices influence the rest of the game) The concept seems nice but I really want more details. Art style looks good, sort of a comic book feel. Not going to lie the combat looks lame, but it doesn't seem like the focus of the game.

Release :
Q1 2018
For :
PC

Ashen

About:
At its core, Ashen is about forging relationships. Players can choose to guide those they trust to their camp, encouraging them to rest at the fire and perhaps remain. People you meet out in the world will have unique skills and crafting abilities to bolster your chances of survival. Together, you might just stand a chance.

Open world with multiplayer available and an interesting combat system. The world you interact with is what interests me the most. Not real clear on the story, seems sort of dungeon crawler-ish which is cool and the art style adds a lot to the overall feel of the game. This game has been in development for a while so I am sort of expecting something great whenever it finally releases.

Release :
Q2 2018
For :
PC / Xbox One

Pixel Ripped (1989)

About :
Follow the life of a computer gaming addict Nicola as she battles through the ages to play her favourite game Pixel Ripped. Starting with 1989, Pixel Ripped takes you on an adventure to a school classroom, where you must complete your favorite video game - but don’t get caught by the teacher!

This VR game boasts as a game within a game, playing through the ages starting in the 70’s and its 2D sprites and up to the 90’s colorful 3D graphics. There is a lot of nostalgia to be had in this game, and I think it will resonate most with some of the more adult generation that remembers these childhood adventures.

Release :
TBA 2017
For :
PS4VR / PC

Stifled

About :
In Stifled, the sounds made by your in-game character and yourself through microphone input reveal the otherwise hidden world through ‘echolocation’. However undue noise will attract the attention of creatures lurking in the darkness. To survive, you will have to tread the line between making sounds to see, and staying quiet to stay hidden.

This game I feel should have been VR, but it may not get as much in sales if they went that route, but perhaps in the future. The concept is brilliant, painfully exciting, and, I imagine, very stressful to play. I’m not really a fan of these kinds of games, but this one was a no-brainer to include in this list.

TBA 2017
For :
PC / PS4 / Xbox One

Cool smaller titles that get overshadowed by the big news
