Fortnite, a co-op sandbox survival game which is currently ruling the gaming world along with PUBG. It's currently the #1 most viewed game on twitch. It has around 4 million concurrent players. Ever wondered why is the game this much popular. We're gonna find it right now......
Free-to-play : The main reason behind this much popularity is because Fortnite is 100% free to play. This means everyone can get this game easily. You can only spend cash to purchase in-game items. Theres no pay-to-win element in this game.
Amazing Gameplay : The second major reason of its popularity is the gameplay. The game itself is not only fun to play but also very fun to watch. On twitch it has over 150k viewers. People spend hours after hours watching the streams and learning.
image sourceBetter optimization : Fortnite is one of the better optimized games. Even it's much more optimized than many paid games, like Pubg. Both of these games run on Unreal Engine. But Epic Games (Dev team of Fortnite) is the developer of Unreal Engine. So it's not surprising that Fortnite is the most optimized game running on Unreal Engine. This attracts so many players.
Frequent updates : Epic Games regularly update their game adding so many weapons, skins, etc. This is a hidden key to keep a f2p game active and popular.
There are many more reasons behind this game's popularity. If 2017 was the year of Pubg then 2018 is going to be the year of Fortnite.
