RE: A trip back to 2004 in gaming history (Part 1)
UT2004 never grabbed me the way the original did, alas...
Halo 2 was...well, Halo 2. Not much to say, except how much I hated Bungie for that cliffhanger non-ending. :)
Fable was an average RPG wrecked by deranged and impossible promises from the lead designer. Steered well clear of the sequels after that nonsense.
The first FarCry I played was the original, although my computer didn't quite have the chops to run it. My first full experience with a game was FarCry 2 on the PS3, which is a face-punchingly awful experience from start to finish. The fact FarCry 3 turned out so damn good is a testament to Ubisoft's willingness to listen to critics and go back to the drawing board. It's not a perfect game, but it's at least a fun game, which is something FarCry 2 never managed.
I can't be the only one who feels we're long overdue for a Def Jam sequel/reboot, can I... ? :)
