Star Wars Battlefront II - What We Know and What to Expect From E3.

Like many, many others, I am a huge fan of the Star Wars series; so the prospect of another instalment of Battlefront has me really excited. I found the first game really good fun; it captured everything I love about Star Wars and successfully merged it into a fast paced, action packed first person shooter. The game truly is great, however I feel it does slightly lack in some areas, for example having no single player campaign mode. It is also constricted to just one section of time from the entire saga, making us miss out on playing as some of the other characters from the world of Star Wars.

Timeline

So the image above depicts Darth Maul fighting with Master Yoda, a clear indication that the new games timeline will stretch across the entire saga. The game trailer also shows Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Rey and so on, so this definitely confirms that there will be a lot more Jedi and Sith available to play as, which is real exciting stuff. This also means that all the different kinds of armies will be made available for players to use, plus different battlegrounds throughout the galaxy.

Campaign Mode

The trailer presents us with a different kind of story line featuring an elite special forces soldier, fighting against the rebellion. I think this is a really cool concept and different angle on the more traditional Star Wars story lines, of fighting for the rebellion. Either way I think the story mode will be a hugely successful add on to the game. Game details have also confirmed that the campaign spans over 30 years and bridges events between the films; Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Multiplayer

So I think we can agree that the multiplayer aspect of this game is equally, if not more exciting than the new campaign mode. I am sure the new features and tweaks to the old style will ensure the game play is fluid, stylish and most of all good fun. The multiplayer universe will be unmatched in variety, and will allow a confirmed amount of up to 40 players per game. The extended timeline will make sure we can play as iconic heroes from across the saga, as well as a lot more famous vehicles and battlegrounds.
