[Game Review] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

So, you want to start playing CS:GO eh? Well as somebody who has over 2,000 hours on this game, I can tell you a lot about it. Let's get started shall we?

So to start off, this is not Call of Duty! I have seen countless amounts of people who are just starting out to play CS:GO and they just run around without stopping and trying to shoot people with the main rifles. If you move around while shooting an M4A4 or an AK-47 depending what side you are on, then you will be having a pretty tough time getting a kill.

Next we are going to talk about the Competitive mode of CS, or "Comp" for short. Now this is where Counter-Strike really strives to be the better FPS out of its competitors. Personally in my opinion, the most rewarding thing to me is the rank that you have. There are many ranks, as I am Master Guardian 1. The ranks go from Silver 1, all the way to the legendary Global Elite. This is a picture of the ranks right here.
You might think that getting up the ranks is an easy task if you are comparing it to Call of Duty, but this game punishes you for your losses. You are very easily able to get deranked, as it has happened to me and everybody else plenty of times.

This next part is also very important that can drastically affect your competitive games, and that is called ECONOMY.
Counter-Strike does not have custom create-a-classes that you can just change to have multiple advantages and be faster than somebody else.
Everybody is equal in Counter-Strike, now why is that? Because everybody has access to the exact same things. A game of competitive starts off as a pistol round, where everybody starts off at $800, where they can either buy a pistol, a Kevlar vest, or even grenades for a better strategy. Most people, including myself, usually get the Kevlar vest, which costs $650. If you buy a Kevlar vest, you can't really buy anything else on the pistol round. As the rounds progress you get more money, and with that money that you earned you can then buy rifles, more Kevlar, and grenades. So basically in a nutshell, the competitive game-mode revolves around this money system, and strategic plays that you can do with the help of smoke grenades, flashbangs, decoy greandes, and molotovs.

There is one thing that CS:GO really has running for it that really helps the game stay alive. Skins.

Skins have been in the game for over 3 years, and they aren't really needed for people to play the game, but it definitely gives the game a lot of value for people to show off their inventories. Certain skins are very high in price, one of those skins is an AWP Dragon Lore which can go all the way up to over $1,000 USD, now that is a lot of money for just pixels in a video game!

All in all I really think that if you take the time to atleast learn about CS:GO then you will have fun playing it.
