Aloha Steemit Family!!!! ‍‍‍

Happy New Moon y'all!

We have a few announcements to make....

First of all...we are celebrating our newest arrival to the urban food-forest here in Southern Utah...and it's a miracle!!!

Let us welcome...our new born baby 👶🏽 Moringa Oleifera!!!!! AKA "miracle tree"!!!

We've been growing moringa for several years now, but our trees never make it through the winter. We're hoping this year we'll be able to set up a nice micro-climate to keep this one going. Fingers crossed!!!

Here's a documentary on the amazing and numerous benefits of the morninga tree.

We usually harvest and dry her leaves to make them into a superfood powder for green smoothies. Or we just eat the raw leaves in salads.

We would also like to announce the birth of our joint Steemit account @purejoytown!!!

Here's our "introduceyourself" post:

@rawutah and I will be joining passions and exploring the mysteries in @purejoytown...a place to learn...giggle...grow...and heal.

Hope to see you there!!!

And finally!!! We have three winners to announce in our contest for the first fruits to ripen!!! LOL!! We challenged the entire food-forest to a contest 😉

And the winners are...

1) The Nanking Cherry

This Beauty is an extremely versatile plant. Not only does she fruit early on, she also provides abundant flowers to attract pollinators and she can be planted and shaped as a food-hedge for privacy and as a wind-breaker.

I'm especially excited for these tart-cherry-like fruits for their high melatonin content...which equals deeep sleep!!

2) The Weeping Black Mulberry
IMG_4500.JPG

This tree won't grow very tall but this is what the description says...plant the weeping mulberry "for a real child or your inner child and enjoy picking fruit from inside your mulberry fortress!"

We purchased this little cutie here:

3) The Goji Berry

This lady is also extremely versatile and can be shaped into a tree or hedge.

We love that she flowers and fruits abundantly, and several times from the spring to the fall.

Most people have tasted the dried storebought goji berries, which are pretty sweet. The fresh ones taste more like tiny tomatoes and are delicious on salads.

We hope you are all finding time to enjoy the fruits of your labor!!!

What's ripening in your gardens?

Thanks for celebrating with us!!!
