RE: BIGGEST News in Garden of Eden HISTORY!
what! wow! what huge news!
Sending Love and many blessings for this!
I wonder where will Eden 2 be! That must also be an exciting thing to think about.. SO many decisions!! <3
did you ever spot my post about blockchain funded community building? I wonder if that is something you have thought about?!
My Vision For Blockchain Based Communities Worldwide.

Thank you @eco-alex! Yes it is an exciting time to be alive!
Thanks for sharing your link - looks like we have many similar ideas for our projects. Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology will certainly have a significant role in the future of our network of sustainable housing developments!
What stage are you at? Feel free to send us an email at gardenofedenvortex@gmail.com.
Excuse the delay! Thanks for sharing your email ID! Im starting to see more people come up with Very interesting Blockchain community ideas! There are so many ways to use blockchain, and the way I want to use it is REAlly interesting! I REALLY wonder if your vision is on the same lines as mine or another way to work magic with crypto!.. Its all so hard to explain, and some of it quite technical.
I'm at the very start of creating the vision for this. For me the most important part is the ability to use the ecoVillage coin much like Steem works. By doing this, and getting the variables right so that price is stable, it is my hope that this coin could fund the majority of the build and creation of the ecoVillage. People would be able to buy in, but at very low cost, and there would be a sliding scale.
A LOT of money can be saved by using volunteer labour, and skilled labour who have an incentive to work for nothing because they will receive one of the first homes in the community. Basically, with my experience and connections Im confidant I could build a whole community for a tiny fraction of the cost of what any one would spend to self-build. If we choose the right country in Europe to start with, it can also bypass a LOT of the hurdles and red tape that people get blocked by. Choosing a country or area that supports the cause is a sure way to open doors and get a first proof of concept going. Earthship Brighton was a success and received land for free by the Brighton & Hove Council because they are supporters of the cause. They even gave planning permission to build in National Trust Land, which is Very unusual. So location is going to be a KEY to the success as well.
One of the key variables in my system is how much pre mining can be done. Pre mining would be used to acquire land, and subsidise the build to the extent that it would cost peanuts to own a home. We would get some immediate buying strength through deposits made by people who are ready to buy a home in this community. Other important variables are the amount of inflation, and how much of that goes to development, how much goes to the community (reward pool), and how much is locked up and held.
Another thing that is really important is how ownership would work! In my vision there is no legal ownership of the property. People will have a lifetime lease, and ownership would be in the name of the ecoVillage Trust. The trust needs to own and control buying and selling to prevent abuse, and skyrocketing prices.. Lots of detail on that in my post. The main point is that people will not only have a home for life, with no bills, but will also earn money in ecoVillage 'Dollars'. The buy in is going to be very small!
Note that people are not buying ecoVillage coin, but are buying the right to live in their home for life. The coins that were bought would be owned an controlled by the Trust and will help to stabilise the price.
I also really like the idea of the community being able to organically fund each others small projects using the up-vote system. Everyone who buys in will have ecoVillage Power (a % of buy in would be delegated by the trust) and the community can support the things it wants to see happen, just like on Steemit.
WEll, that's just what comes off the top of my head to try to give you an idea of my vision. Once I meet the programmer I am looking for I will determine the feasibility of the whole idea and math of the Steem Blockchain.
The thing i REALLY like about this idea is that even if the coin fails (worst case situation) the assets and homes will be owned outright and will be safe and protected.
There is a LOT to think about huh!
Maybe its nice to chat it out here so others might find it? I even wonder if a discord group might be a good idea, since there are a few of us thinking along these lines and it might a good way to bring us together.
Id love to hear more about your vision!
