RE: How to Use Diatomaceous Earth to Get Rid of Ants

in #gardenofeden6 years ago

Mechanism by which Diatomaceous earth control arthopod ( ants).

Ants and many other arthopods have outer layer made up of lipid on body which resist loss of water from it. Diatomaceous earth is fine powder which can absorb waxy material from outer layer of arthopod and eventually body start loss of water because of evaporation. Arthropods die as a result of dehydration and the water pressure deficiency, based on Fick's law of diffusion.
